Harar is an ancient Islamic city in the country of Ethiopia, East Africa. Addis Ababa is Ethiopia's capital. Our Messenger visited Ethiopia in 1959 during his visit to the East.
Many Ethiopians consider Harar the fourth holiest city in Islam. Muslim refugees settled in Harar in the early 600's CE after fleeing Mecca to avoid persecution. Later, walls were built around the city to protect and preserve it from outsiders. The small city now has around 100 mosques, 100 shrines, and many churches. Harar is known as the "Mecca of Africa" and the "City of Saints." No matter where you go in Harar, there is always a nearby mosque for praying in unity. |
Our Messenger teaches:
"We are reminded that this prayer is made obligatory; it is also binding upon the Believers (Muslims) in Allah (God) to obey Him. For in that 1,000 years of Millennium, the disbelievers will cease to be. And to those who live in that time it shall be binding upon them to serve and obey One God: Fard Muhammad the Great Mahdi, or Allah in Person. The Mahdi must restore the Kingdom of Islam and He must weed out from the kingdom of Islam all disbelievers. This He will do in His time. " Message to the Black Man in America - Time of Prayer and It's Meaning (pg. 142) "It is a perfect insult to Allah (God) who made heaven and earth and makes the earth to produce everything for our service and even the sun, moon, and stars -- they serve our needs -- for us to bow down and worship anything other than Allah as a god. The Great Mahdi, Allah in person, who is in our midst today, will put a stop once and forever to the serving and worshiping of other gods besides Himself." Message to the Black Man in America - Islam, Only True Religion of God (pg. 75) |
